What Do We Mean By GREEN?

The data centers housing our hosting servers use a significant amount of energy for operation and cooling. Our wholesaler has purchased "green energy certificates" which offset the energy used to power these data centers by 130% - more energy certificates are purchased than are actually needed for the data center! This is coupled with an investment in greater efficiency servers and cooling systems.

The proceeds of Green Energy Certificates are invested in various green energy industries. A combination of subsidies for private companies and funding for public research contributes to green sources currently powering North American grids, as well as improvements in existing technology efficiency and in the development of new green technologies.

It is our hope that our green hosting policies will encourage our customers and partners to develop a similar attitude for our shared environmental responsibility.
