Customers with specialized needs may wish to take advantage of our hosting Hosting Extension, Dedicated IP, and SSL Certificate Plans. These options are available to anyone with a Standard or Business Plan.
Extension Plans
Need a little bit more from your hosting service? Customers who purchase one of our Business service plans are able to purchase plan extensions through the Customer Portal. Each extension adds an additional 500 MB Storage or Bandwidth, 5 FTP Accounts, 5 Parking Domains, 5 Subdomains, 1 Addon Domain, 10 Email Addresses, and 5 Mailing Lists to their account. Extension Plans cost $6.00 per month including taxes.
Dedicated IP
Computers translate your website address (domain.tld/path/to/website) into an IP address in order to communicate over the internet. Most websites are hosted on an IP address shared by multiple websites, but in some advanced applications a site may require its own unique address, called a dedicated IP. The most common situation requiring a dedicated IP is when a site uses an SSL certificate to encrypt communications.
Due to the current global IP shortage, we currently only grant Dedicated IP's for SSL certificates. The reasons for using the certificate will be reviewed and may be approved or rejected at our discretion.
SSL Cerficates
If you need a secure line of communication for your customers to view your website, you'll require an SSL certificate. SSL stands for Secure Socket Layer, and is the industry standard method of protecting communications between your server and your visitors. Using one of these certificates ensures that sensitive information cannot be intercepted by malicious third-parties, and is a necessity for collecting personal information or accepting payments on your website. An SSL Certificate is a sure way to show your customers that you value security and privacy. When a visitor arrives at a site with SSL protection, the beginning of the site address displays HTTPS:// and the location bar displays a padlock icon next to the address. Communications are protected by up to 256-bits of encryption. We offer several types of SSL certificates depending on the requirements of your organization:
- Standard SSL: Allows protection of one domain (domain.tld and www.domain.tld) or subdomain (subdomain.domain.tld).
- Wildcard SSL: Allows protection of a domain and any subdomain belonging to it (*.domain.tld)
- Premium SSL: Your browser location bar and secure padlock icon will be displayed with a green background, indicating that extra verification measures were taken when purchasing your certificate. You will be contacted for detailed company contacts, business operation details and address validation.
