Private Registration
Domain names are registered in the public DNS system and detailed registrant, administrative and technical contact information is required to be listed on a public system called the Whois database. Having your company contact information listed on the Whois database can be advantageous, since the Whois database is sometimes used as a large business directory, but these contacts can also be harvested by malicious organizations and email lists for spam campaigns.
sgHosting provides a private domain registration product. Domains registered this way will appear to have sgHosting contact information, shielding their information from being harvested by malicious users, spammers and domain hijackers attempting to fool businesses into giving up control of their domains. Communications that are intended for the registrant contact will be screened for malicious intent and then forwarded to the client.
